Hair loss after chemo, alopecia & trichotillomania

I speak about acceptance a lot because to me that Is the only cure to hair loss. I have had hair loss for 16 years. Life got better, when I let go. I wasn’t going to have my fairytale ending, and I’ve long since let go of that fantasy. It wasn’t my path, and I’m okay with that. I’m okay with that because I need to be okay with that. Anything less would cause me pain, I’d be regressed back into the cycle of loss, and it’s a place I never want to go back to. My hope for every woman is that they find peace, we all deserve it, however which way that comes to be. It’s different for all of us. Don’t judge yourself for how you feel. Your feelings are valid. Be kind to yourself. To get to where you want to go, you have to be willing to change, and sometimes the change we need to make, is our mindset. Never give up on you.

On the 1st Of June 2021 we are relocating to Northlink Shopping Centre , 148 Langdons Road.

It is with great pleasure that we write to inform you that on the 1 st of June 2021 , we will open our doors in more spacious and comfortable surroundings. Our new address is Northlink Shopping Centre , 148 Langdons Road, our phone number has not changed. It is still
0800 239 662. The new location is near Kmart and has much better parking facilities.

Since we opened for business in 2003 your loyal support has helped us grow, and now we need more space to serve you better. The previous working space and limited parking were unacceptable. We have been looking for a new home for the past few months and are happy to inform you we found it.

As from the 1st June, we will not be operating at the current location. If you have any questions about the new location or our services, please call us and we’ll be happy to help. We look forward to seeing you at our new location.

In light of the current global environment relating to Covid-19 we have seen it fit to provide the following update for our services .

We take our clients health and well being seriously.
As an added precaution please read the below and if you answer ‘YES’ to any of the questions please let us know and we will gladly reschedule your appointment. For clients that have paid deposits we are quite happy to re-schedule or offer a full refund .

* Hand sanitisers are situated in every work station around the salon. Please use this when entering the salon and throughout your appointment.
* In the bathroom, we have replaced our hand towels with disposable paper towels. Upon using one of the disposable paper towels, please dispose into the bin in the bathroom.
* Our bathrooms provide antibacterial soap, please wash your hands thoroughly throughout your time in the salon.

Our wig making service is done from our Papanui branch in Christchurch and our factory.

CUSTOM MADE WIGS- the process...

Our custom made wigs are crafted to your special requirements. They include an individually tailored head measurements and hair matched to your desired colour, texture, length and degree of curl.

The way your wig fits your head is very important. A good comfortable fit is necessary if you would like to wear your wig for a extended amount of time. For us to do a custom made wig , we require head measurements, colour, lenght and density required for the wig. For clients who can come in person for a consultation, we will take you through the process, and for cleints who live outside Christchurch or for some reason you cant come in we require you to measure your head , using a cloth tape measure that has not been stretched for accuracy. Below are the specific measurents required for a custom made wig. Once we get your requirements we will then start the wig making process that takes between 4-6 weeks. Our wigs are made from 100% real hair and can be styled to suit your needs.

Let us guide you through the daunting but positive process of choosing the correct wig or hairpiece. Whether it be hair loss from chemotherapy, alopecia, lupus, tricolatilliamania, male pattern baldness, scars, burns, transgender and cross dressers to name but a few, or purely for fashion purposes!

Head Measurements Requirements

Forehead to Nape

Start the tape from the center of the front of your hairline, to the hairline at the nape of the neck. If you have little or no hair, lay your index, third, and ring finger flat against your forehead just about at the brow bone. At the top of the three fingers would be a good straight point. Measure until about an inch below the small bone at the bottom of the skull.
Ear to Ear

Lay the end of the tape about a half inch above your little crease (where glasses rest) at the top of your ear between the ear and the head. Bring the tape across the top of your head to meet the other ear, without touching the ear, at the same point.
Circumference

Start the tape at your hairline at the center of your forehead. Run the tape around, behind the ears, passing your hairline at the nape of the neck, and back up to the middle of your forehead.
